A WATFORD XI side will this evening (Wednesday) travel to non league Wealdstone for a pre-season friendly at Ruislip Manor FC.

Reserve team manager Malky Mackay will take a team to Grosvenor Vale made up of first-team squad players with a few Academy players taking part too, after they returned from their week with the marines at Lympstone.

Wealdstone play in the Ryman League Premier Division and boss Gordon Bartlett has taken several young Hornets on loan in recent seasons, including John-Joe O'Toole, Theo Robinson, Dale Bennett and Liam Henderson.

Those who entered the fray last night as substitutes against Boreham Wood are expected to take part again alongside younger players from the Academy such as Billy Gibson and Rob Kiernan.

Mackay has named the following squad for the game in Middlesex. It is:

Scott Loach (gk), Jonathan North (gk), Junior Osborne, Lloyd Doyley, Matt Jackson, Louis Lavers, Jordan Parkes, Dale Bennett, Cedric Avinel, Al Bangura, Robert Kiernan, Billy Gibson, Piero Mingoia, Kurtney Brooks, Lewis Young, Will Hoskins, Moses Ashikodi, Lawrence Hunter, Liam Henderson, Ewan Clarke.

The Golden Boys played Wealdstone last pre-season at Northwood Park when the Hornets notched up a 4-0 result.
