WATFORD make the short journey to Meadow Park, home of Boreham Wood FC this evening (Tuesday) for the first pre-season fixture of the summer.

The ground is usually home for Watford's second string side, but will tonight (kick off 7.30pm) welcome the Hornets as opposition.

The encounter will be the first opportunity for boss Aidy Boothroyd to see his players in action and put into practice the work done on the training pitch so far, including the 10-day Austrian training camp.

Boreham Wood play in the Ryman Football League Premier Division and the local non league side are managed by ex-Arsenal and Colchester player Ian Allison.

The manager has added to his squad during the summer and they have played three pre-season friendlies so far this summer.

The Golden Boys visited Meadow Park last summer and came away with a 3-0 victory thanks to strikes from Tamas Priskin, and two from ex-striker Marlon King.

Meadow Park is near Borehamwood town centre and situated approximately one mile from Borehamwood station.
