THE Hornets came from behind against Aldershot Town this afternoon (Wednesday) to win their final away reserve game of the season.

The best news of the afternoon though was Gareth Williams scoring on his comeback trail.

Watford's second string fell behind to the Shots on 49 minutes when Ryan Williams' cross was punched clear by Hungarian 'keeper Bo Antal. His clearance only fell as far as Harrison Bayley and he opened the scoring by putting the ball into the empty net.

Prior to the opener the Golden Boys had their chances with new pro Lewis Young looking most likely to score.

However the 'Orns didn't have to wait long for their equaliser when Scottish midfielder Williams curled a free kick past goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz. It will be a timely boost for the creative playmaker in only his third game back since a year on the sidelines with injury.

With 65 minutes on the clock the Hornets scored the winning goal and it came from the penalty spot. Liam Henderson's fiercely struck shot hit Tyrone Cameron's arm and the referee pointed to the spot.

Henderson was the man to step up and take the kick and he planted his shot past Jaimez-Ruiz's dive to continue his recent great record in front of goal.

The Shots hit the woodwork before the end when Dan Reed got on the end of Williams' cross and his header connected with the post. Then in injury time Junior Mendes popped up in attack for the home side but Antal was equal to what he had to offer.
