WATFORD'S Academy side went down 3-1 against Fulham's under 18s team on Saturday 5 April.

The Hornets handed an under 18s debut to James Irving following injuries to regular goalkeepers Jonathan North and Bo Antal.

After encouraging wins over Southampton and Chelsea in recent weeks, the Golden Boys were disappointed to come away from the game with nothing.

With the scores level at half time the home side pushed on after the break and punished the Hornets on two further occasions.

Under 18s coach Sean Dyche said: "Fulham are a good side and we didn't play as well as we have done in recent weeks.

"Jamie did really well and came in very late after we lost Bo and Northy. He gave a good account of himself in what was a tough afternoon for him to come in."

Striker Liam Henderson got on the score sheet for Watford and he can be happy with his scoring ration in recent months.

Dyche added: "Liam had a quiet game by his standards but his strike ratio since Christmas for the reserves and the youth team has been very good. Out of a not-so-good performance, he has managed to nick himself a goal and that's a handy habit to have for a striker."
