THE Duke is back. And Nathan Ellington sees no reason why Watford now can't go on to clinch top spot.

Ellington grabbed the opener against Coventry with just seven minutes on the clock and set up the Golden Boys for victory.

Now with Barnsley due to visit Vicarage Road on Wednesday, if results go the way of the Hornets on Monday and Tuesday, Watford could be back at the top of the league. Crisis? What crisis?

And that sentiment was echoed by Ellington: "We've got to win our remaining games. It's as simple as that. It seems to be well known that no one wants to win this league but today seems to have been the first time for ages that other results have gone our way and we've also won as well.

"For me personally it's great to be scoring again, but for today it was all about the win. As long as somebody, anybody scores and we get the points then that's what this stage of the season is all about. This is the most imperative stage of the season now."

Ellington bagged his first goal since February 9 and while he knew the pressure was on him to produce, he never doubted his ability: "I have faith it myself and I know I've missed chances and I hold my hands up and take full responsibility for those. But I always want to show people what I can do.

"We want to win the league and the fans want to win the league, I want to score and I'm sure the fans want me to score. I'm looking forward to getting a run in the team now, it's been difficult with so many changes due to suspensions, but I'm sure once the strikers get a bit of a run we'll be more consistent.

"Now we're just waiting for others to slip up, because we know it will happen soon, but this is where we need to be strong and keep winning. Wednesday will be a massive game for us now."
