YOUNG HORNET TAKES THE PLUNGE
WATFORD fan Edwin Maldoom took part in his own pre-match warm up prior to Sunday's victory over Southampton at Vicarage Road.
The young Hornet completed a 90ft abseil down the side of the Harlequin shopping centre in aid of Watford New Hope Trust.
The Trust is a local charity whose aim is to help the homeless and vulnerable by providing shelter, food and opportunities to rebuild damaged lives.
It was the Trust's third sponsored event and was attended by over 50 people of all ages - including Edwin Maldoom a pupil at Clement Danes School who took the plunge in none other than his Watford shirt. Good choice!
There was just enough time prior to kick off for him to squeeze in an exhilarating abseil before he watched the Golden Boys in action.
Having hung over the edge of the Harlequin shopping centre he was then kept on the edge of his seat until the final minute of the match when Darius Henderson sealed all three points for Aidy Boothroyd's men. The roar from the crowd was clearly heard by those taking part in the abseil from the top floor of the Kings car park.

Many of the participants raised well over the minimum sponsorship and have helped to raise over £5,000 for the charity. New Chief Executive of Watford New Hope Trust, Mike Smith who supported the event said: "I'd like to say a big thank you to all those who have taken part today. It's been a fantastic day."
