ROUS STAND CLOSED FOR WILLEM
THIS weekend's friendly against Willem II will be played out in front of two stands only, as redevelopment work at Vicarage Road is planned to continue on the club's Rous Stand throughout the weekend.
With the season rapidly approaching the decision has been taken to allow the on-site construction team as much time as possible to adequately complete existing works and further additional items in preparation for the opening night's game against Gillingham on Tuesday, August 14.
That means that fans coming to this weekend's friendly fixture will be asked to use either the newly refurbished Rookery Stand, or the East Stand. Because of the anticipated attendance figure a decision had already been taken to close the Vicarage Road Stand to supporters.
Any supporters who have already purchased tickets in the Rous Stand will be contacted by the Ticket Office before the weekend. Any supporters who are unable, for whatever reason, to make contact with us before Saturday will be able to exchange tickets on the day from the match day Rookery Ticket Office.
Watford fans are also urged to buy tickets as early as possible in advance of the game to avoid queues and congestion expected with a high amount of supporters set to pay on the day at turnstiles.
Tickets are available in advance by contacting our Ticket Office by phone on 0845 442 1881 or online by clicking here, and are priced at £10 Adults and £5 Under 16's and Over 65's.
With works in the Rous Stand ongoing supporters will see that the soon-to-be Directors' area will be without seating, as the club await a delayed delivery of products from suppliers Ferco, who are importing seats from Malaysia.
The stand will be fully operational for the Gillingham fixture and will incorporate several new features such as refurbished corporate boxes, an all new Elton's dining area and enhanced bar, toilet and reception facilities.
The stand will also feature a brand new lift that will help make it compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act.
Previously unplanned works, which the club has now been able to invest in, will also see a new stair well constructed from the Rous Stand reception area, down to the Corporate Lounge and up to the Upper Rous concourse. This work was never planned to be completed before September and will be ongoing between home fixtures.
These changes will enhance the experience of the club's corporate supporters as well as provide further non-matchday opportunities in conferencing and banqueting.
