ROOKERY BLOG
FOR those of you who had their poor face turned redder than Nicky Wright Wright Wright's undercarriage by the gruelling Wolverhampton sunshine on Saturday, you'll know that following the horns over land and sea ("…and Luton!") isn't always an easy ride.
For example, one poor chap in front of me who'd been grumbling about "sun stroke" for 85 minutes at Molineux, decided to call it a day, and head back to the M1 just seconds before Jordan stepped up to score the goal of the season (so far). The combo of pain, comedy and sheer delight that he must have felt when switching on his car radio is typical of what life is like as a day-in-day-out Hornets fan, and it's these kind emotions we'll be trying to capture here on the Rookery Blog this season.
Over the next few months we'll be posting the funniest, strangest and greatest moments following Watford on their Championship promotion campaign. This will include everything from dodgy hot dogs at Stadium MK to how to train your dog to bark z-cars (it's possible, I've tried it). We'll also have the best web clips and footage from within the stands, as well as how to find out what pub to drink in during an away day to Scunthorpe - stuff like that.

So to introduce myself, I'm a freelance writer and life long Watford supporter. Previously I've jeopardised my writing career on numerous occasions to try and help the horns. In past interviews for FHM magazine I've asked David Beckham, Stevie Gerrard, John Terry, Michael Owen and Frank Lampard all to one day sign Watford in exchange for a positive interview (only JT said yes... here's hoping to see him in a golden shirt soon!). I also once tried to force Jack Charlton into a Watford shirt for a photo shoot, and continued pleading with him until he shook his fist at me. I'll be no doubt be doing equally unprofessional things some time soon, so I'll keep you posted on these too!
PS if you were the bald, semi-naked tattooed man I kissed when Steve Kabba got hacked down in the box on Saturday, all apologies. It was the emotion of the day, and the excitement of the new season. I didn't mean to embarrass you in front of your mates. Honest.
