ANOTHER good display from Watford earned them another point - although they certainly had the chances to have claimed all three points.

The Hornets started at a ferocious tempo and spurned two or threee excellent opportunities - with Tommy Smith a particular offender - but ended up having to accept a point for their work.
Aidy kept the faith with the eleven who drew at Charlton last Saturday which meant one change from Tuesday's win over Hull City.
Tommy Smith returned at the expense of Tamas Priskin who dropped to the bench.
Watford started very brightly and had a almost fashioned a great chance inside the first 15 seconds. From kick-off, Smith went storming down the right and his cross almost found Darius Henderson in the six-yard box.
Only a vital touch from King took the ball away from the big striker, at the expense of a corner.

Darius Henderson and Ledley King |
The game's helter skleter start continued when Spurs almost went in front on four minutes. Jenas' corner from the right zoomed across the six-yard box with Berbatov inches away from providing the touch which would certainly have converted the chance into a goal.
Tommy Smith then produced an incredible miss on seven minutes. Stewart crossed from the left, Shittu hooked back across goal and the onrushing Smith blasted over the bar from five yards out with Robinson in the Spurs goal already beaten.
The chances were coming thick and fast and Spurs were frustrated by a great Foster save on ten minutes. Keane's ball inside Doyley put Lennon clean through but the Watford keeper rushed out and made a blocking save to keep the scoreline at 0-0.
After a quite incredible goalless opening ten minutes, the game then settled down, although the Hornets continued to look dangerous in possession, creating one or two jittery moments in the visiting defence.

Gavin Mahon tangles with Robbie Keane |
Having said that, Tottenham also had theoir moments and broke dangerously in the 23rd minute with Berbatov in the inside right position. Fortunately, Doyley was alert to his cross and cleared under pressure.
Another Watford cross flashed across the Spurs goal just a minute later, this time Smith at the far post just couldn't connect at full stretch.
Tottenham were starting to enjoy some decent possession, stroking it around in midfield leading to a decent chance for Lennon that Foster was equal to, palming over for a corner.
The feeling that a goal was going to come continued to grow when a great run by Smith along the touchline towards goal was only cut out by Dawson at the expense of another corner. The only thing that remained unclear was which team would be the scorer of the opening goal!

Bouazza fires over the bar |
On 38 minutes Damien Francis cracked in a poweful left-footed shot which Robinson could only parry, forcing King into a desperate clearance under pressure from Young.
Watford had the ball in the net on 40 minutes after Young went through from Henderson's flick. The young striker finished clinically but the goal was chalked off by a linesman's flag for offside.

Watford looked to start the second half much as they had ended the first - on the front foot and keeping Spurs under pressure. Neither manager made any changes at the break.
Smith continued to create problems for Spurs down the Watford right and he almost got on the end of Young's cross in the first minute after the break.
Despite trying to keep the tempo high, the Hornets couldn't prevent the visitors from enjoying a decent amount of possession, although they rarely looked threatening.
The game get a bit scruffy with Watford looking a little untidy and Spurs not really capable of capitalising.

Darius Henderson falls under a challenge from Michael Dawson |
Hameur Bouazza was harshly booked midway through the half for a foul on Jenas, who then himself went into Rennie's book for a late lunge on DeMerit.
While Martin Jol made a couple of changes in the hope of pepping his team up - Murphy replacing Ghaly and Defoe for Keane - while Aidy kept the faith with his starting eleven.
Mahon was booked for a foul on Huddlestone with seven minutes left and Young almost latched onto Henderson's flick as the game entered stoppage time but it wasn't to be.
