Henry Grover



It was Henry Grover who was acknowledged as the founder of Watford Rovers. He played at full-back and half-back for nearly a decade, and died in Watford in 1949 at the age of 83.

Ralph Thorpe



Regarded as the club¹s first benefactor of note, Ralph A.Thorpe was elected chairman of the Watford Football Committee at West Herts. He backed the key decision to appoint the club¹s first manager.

Sir Elton John CBE



The world-famous pop star became Watford chairman in 1976,and started the club's incredible journey when appointing Graham Taylor as manager. After a period away from the club, he returned in 1997 and is now Honorary Life-President along with Taylor.
