BELOW you can find out every single League cup result for the Hornets since the competition started in 1960.

The competition got off the ground thanks to Alan Hardaker, who was Secretary of the Football League from 1957-1979.

He believed a tournament based on two-legged ties would be financially attractive to lower league clubs.

Indeed, in 1960/61 Second Division Rotherham finished runners-up to Aston Villa, while in the following season Rochdale became the first Fourth Division club to reach a final, eventually losing out to Division Two side Norwich City.

The Golden Boys took a while to find their feet in the competition, to date their best efforts have seen them reaching the semi final in 1979 and 2005.
