The programme is a school based project delivering sessions around personal safety, fire safety and healthy living. Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust, the Metropolitan Police and the London Fire Brigade are the key delivery partners working very closely with Harrow Council.
The Miss Dorothy programme endorsed at the Harrow launch by MP Tony McNulty and the Mayor of Harrow is dedicated to increasing children's understanding of feeling safe and promoting behaviours that contribute to a safe environment.
The Trust can deliver a 6 week programme of Healthy Living in every primary school in Harrow over the next 2 years. This involves a taster session for each school, our healthy living workshops, and practical activities including football, cricket, tag rugby, rounders, and hockey as well as potential follow-up sessions with each school.
"We are delighted to be recognised by the Kids Task Force for our involvement in the MissDorothy Programme" commented Neil Hart, Senior Manager Social Inclusion (WFC's CSE Trust).
"This programme has a positive impact on all young people who involved while providing them with the necessary skills to develop into responsible adults.
We have now delivered MissDorothy to nearly 40 schools engaging with nearly 3000 young people which is a great testament to all the staff here who have been involved with the implementation and delivery of this project".
