ON Sunday August 3 at Watford FC's Open Day, the club's Community Sports & Education Trust showcased a mobile unit for the community to engage in a variety of activities.

The mobile unit is a unique idea around taking a variety of activities to local communities who would not normally have the access to such opportunities.

The mobile unit (pictured) was provided by Mobile Promotions and will form a joint venture between Watford FC's Community Trust and Harrow Council.

The Trust in partnership with the Watford Learning Centre ran a number of activities including a 'Design your own Mobile Unit' competition, a photo shoot competition as well as talking to people about all the work Watford FC currently undertakes in the Community.

Over 100 people completed surveys and took part in the competitions. The design your own mobile unit competition was won by Josie O'Brien (aged 10) from Hemel Hempstead who won a signed shirt for her efforts on the day.

Graham Simpson, Chairman, Watford FC's Chairman said: "The mobile unit provides a fantastic opportunity for the Trust to be able to takes its award winning work further into our community.

"At our recent Open Day it became a real focal point for children and young adults, and I am in no doubt that this facility will add immensely to the portfolio of services that we provide to our community."
