SPURS U18 3 WATFORD U18 2
THE Hornets played a day earlier last weekend (Friday 23 October), just as the first-team did, but they were unable to match their older colleagues and come away with a win.
The youngsters did however show evidence of their spirit and determination, as they came back with two second half goals, after slipping behind early in the game.
An array of coaching staff from Spurs watched the clash as the game kicked off on a sunny morning.
The 'Orns fell behind after giving away a free kick near the edge of the 18 yard box.
Jesse Waller-Lassen was brought down by Watford's Andy Yiadom and the home side were awarded a free kick.
From Tottenham's left flank the ball was floated in from Dean Parrett, he put it to the back post where captain Harry Kane nodded back across goal for Ryan Fredericks to get his head to the ball and strike past Jamie Irving.
Mark Warburton's team did their best to strike back and the unlikely figure of Adam Fenwick sent a shot wide following a free kick but it was the home side who doubled their lead.
Kane fired home from the best part of 20 yards after a free kick was given away by the Golden Boys.
Theo Angus saw his effort saved before Tottenham responded with further pressure. Yet again it came from a free kick and Kane struck the decisive goal.
The half time interval came and Warburton would have been pleased to get his side together to try and correct some of the things that had gone wrong in the first 45 minutes.

Whichelow got the scoresheet for the 'Orns |
Piero Mingoia was unlucky to see his blasted shot cleared off the line. However, Matty Whichelow soon found the back of the net as Spurs defender Sam Cox tripped the youngster in the box.
Whichelow dusted himself down and converted the kick himself. Not long after, defender Eddie Oshodi scored again for the Hornets as they doubled their goals tally.
Yiadom could have levelled the score but drove his effort wide late on.
