THE Hornets have today (Friday) strengthened their squad with the addition of Fulham defender Matthew Briggs on loan until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old has been recruited following injuries to some key defensive players in recent weeks.
Briggs made his Premier League debut for Fulham in 2007 and has experience of the npower Championship following loan spells with both Peterborough United and Bristol City.
The left-sided defender has played in Europe with the Cottagers and has turned out five times this season for Martin Jol’s men in the top flight.
The promising defender has also appeared for England’s Under-21 side as well the Three Lions at various youth levels.
Briggs has been handed squad number 17 at Vicarage Road.
