Details of new Hornets’ Trust scheme in Hitchin

WATFORD FC's Community Sports & Education Trust will be introducing a brand new project called Walking Football aimed at those aged 50 or over.

Walking Football is becoming increasingly popular up and down the country, with a number of clubs running the scheme successfully.

The main rule of Walking Football, you CANNOT go faster than walking pace. All the other rules of football remain the same.

The aim of this project is to engage the older community in football related activity to improve their physical, mental and social wellbeing by taking part in regular sessions.

The outcomes of this project will be to increase the number of individuals aged 50+ participating in community activity to improve their physical, mental and social well being by taking part on a regular basis.

The programme will be delivered for an hour a week and will aim to encourage older people to come and have a go at a slower paced version of football in a fun, safe and structured environment.

There will also be the opportunity for teas and coffees after the session.

Start Date: Thursday November 22, sessions will run every Thursday
Time: 9:30am - 10:30am
Cost: £1 per session
